Buccal fat pads are fat deposits located in the movable area of the lower half of the face between the cheek bone and the corner of the mouth. Buccal fat pads are the leading cause of what we know commonly as chubby cheeks. When buccal fat pads are reduced, the patient’s face takes on a slimmer, more defined shape.
