What is a Brazilian Butt Lift?

Women in Montreal seeking to maintain and enhance the shape of their bodies have long turned to breast enhancements in order to create a more womanly and attractive shape, but now a new procedure is gaining rapid popularity in the cosmetic surgery world. Butt lifts have been used for many years to lift or remove excess of sagging tissue around the butt area, but a Brazilian butt lift aims to do even more.

Brazilian Butt Lift

Autologous Fat Grafting

Using fat grafting techniques, this procedure adds volume to the buttocks while erasing the appearance of excess skin and lifting the surrounding tissues. Because the fat used is harvested from the abdomen, flanks, and thighs of the patient themselves, this procedure carries no risk of allergic reaction.

However, because the fat used to plump the buttocks must be harvested from the patient, it is not a recommend procedure for patients who do not have fat pockets to spare. About ½ pound to ¾ pound of fat must be available for harvesting in order to ensure best results.

A less invasive procedure than traditional butt lifts, a Brazilian butt lift also comes with a much reduced recovery time and minimal scarring. In fact, the longest recovery period associated with this procedure is not the augmentation itself, but rather the liposuction procedure used to harvest the required fat.

Most patients are able to return to their daily activities within about a week of their butt lift procedure, while recovery from the liposuction may take anywhere from one week to 14 days. Autologous fat grafting is an ideal method for plumping areas of the body such as the buttocks and breast, thanks to the fact that it carries zero risk of rejection. The fat naturally takes on the characteristics of the area into which it is injected for a natural appearance with smaller scars than a traditional butt lift or butt implants. Because the surgery is much less complicated, there is less chance of error or complication and no maintenance is required following the initial procedure.

In some cases patients may decide to undergo a second fat transfer in order to achieve the desired results. This is because about 60-80% of the fat will survive the transfer depending on the skill of the surgeon, and the general health of the patient. It will take about three months so see the full effects of your butt lift. Widely recognized as the best – and safest – way to create a shapely butt, this procedure creates a natural appearance virtually indistinguishable from a naturally round buttocks.
